SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY :
Science basically defines the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purpose.
Technology, science and knowledge are important in modern contemporary society. The understanding of how social, cultural and material elements influence the production of new practices, new ways of understanding and new institutions is vital in our understanding of contemporary postmodern society.

- 1.1 Mathematics. Pure mathematics, Applied mathematics; Statistics and probability.
- 1.2 Computer and information sciences.
- 1.3 Physical science.
- 1.4 Chemical sciences.
- 1.5 Earth and related Environmental sciences.
- 1.6 Biological science, (medical to be 3, and agricultural to be 4)
- 1.7 Other natural sciences.
Science contributes to technology in at least six ways: (1) new knowledge which serves as a direct source of ideas for new technological possibilities; (2) source of tools and techniques for more efficient engineering design and a knowledge base for evaluation of feasibility of designs; (3) research instrumentation.

Science and technology have had a major impact on society, and their impact is growing. ... By making life easier, science has given man the chance to pursue societal concerns such as ethics, aesthetics, education, and justice; to create cultures; and to improve human conditions.
IMPACT ON ENVIRONMENT :
Other detrimental effects include diseases such as typhoid and cholera, eutrophication and the destruction of ecosystems which negatively affects the food chain. Resource depletion is another negative impact of technology on the environment. It refers to the consumption of a resource faster than it can be replenished.
The advantages of Science and Technology are:
- It will make our life easier.
- It helps us organize our daily activities.
- This helps our work can be done faster.
- It helps us to communicate more easily with others.
- This helps us to better know and understand other cultures and societies.
The disadvantages of science and technology are :
- it can be easily handled by irresponsible people.
- We will be too dependent on that. ...
- Sometimes it affects our health and our lifestyles (we will be complacent and lazy.)
- It destroys our simple and healthy life (the traditional lifestyle I miss).
Science is the study of structure and behaviour of natural and physical world, to create premises. In contrast, technology deals with putting those premises into practice. Science is concerned with analysis, deduction and theory development. On the other hand, technology is based on analysis and synthesis of design.
Teaching technological literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving through science education gives students the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Technology often presents children with problems, and helps them learn how to make decisions and solve those problems. Games and apps on tablets or smartphones can help give children the practice they need to find success down the road. When students wisely use technology they can reap huge rewards.
Technology, when used correctly, can actually have a very positive effect on a child's development. Studies have found that our ability to identify key information buried within a cluster of characters and visual stimuli (advertisements) has increased as technology has become more integrated in our lives.
EFFECTS TO CHILDREN :
Because unlike an adult's brain, a child's brain is still developing, and as a result, malleable. When children are exposed to technology at high rates, their brain may adopt an internet approach to thinking – quickly scanning and processing multiple sources of information
Technology has advanced into many areas of our lives, making information more accessible, improving communication, changing transportation, and the list goes on. While it is easy to sit back and benefit from a plethora of technological advancements, it is crucial we do not become blind to its effects on society.
Children who overuse technology may be more likely to experience issues, including:
- low academic performance.
- lack of attention.
- low creativity.
- delays in language development.
- delays in social and emotional development.
- physical inactivity and obesity.
- poor sleep quality.
Science and technology help each other advance. Scientific knowledge is used to create new technologies.
